Dim Sum, I really enjoyed it here.  It reminds me of Guangzhou, NOT Hong Kong now, since the two regions have some differences.  Guangzhou flavor tends to be lighter while HK is more refined and richer tastes.  Start off w/ the Shou Mei Tea (White tea aka Long Brow Tea), this type of tea served here tastes completely different from everyone else's.  I generally avoid the fried Dim Sums since they tend to bloat up on you due to the bad oil used in frying, but not here.  The beauty of the Dim Sum here for me, there is not one particular dish standout but overall everything was good.

Dinner, was only average.  Nothing bad, but nothing exceptional either, just a decent typical Cantonese meal.

So I would say Dim Sum would be way to go vs dinner.

Horrible service. From front of house to staff. Nobody will acknowledge you as they are swamped with customers on weekends. You have to get their attention.

Default language is Cantonese. So if you do not speak it, you may not understand what is going on. They will switch to English if you do not speak Cantonese. I received slightly better service after I saw one staff spoke in Mandarin to another customer, and I spoke to them in Mandarin.

I was there on a weekend and I was told it would be an hour wait for a table. So I decided to order take out instead. I was told it would take 15-20 minutes so I waited. But the food was not ready after 20 minutes and the staff did not inform me, and I had to get their attention to ask them about it. It took a while for them to check on the status and was told it would be longer. I was not happy about it as I did not have the time to wait, and at the rate it would be ready, it could be 45 minutes. Then I might have as well waited the hour for a table instead.

I told the staff that I could have been informed about the time before I placed the order. So she went back into the kitchen and came out with the food. I ordered the shrimp dumpling (har gow), BBQ pork bun and the chicken with rice and dates.

The chicken dish was the one which required more time to be ready, and I could tell it was just 70% done. The rice was still hard, and the chicken was parts which could not be served in other dishes. It was all bones and had very little meat. The dish was already tasty if it was done well and if the chicken had more meat to it. Unfortunately it was a rush job so it was bad.

The har gow was nice though the skin was of the thick kind. Same with the buns, Too much dough.

I could see why it would be popular as there are not many decent dim sum restaurants in this area. The food is pricey for what you get.

I think I will rather travel all the way to Vancouver or even Coquitlam for dim sum in future.

The parking spots in the rear are tiny, mainly because most of the customers drive big vehicles. So be careful that your car does not get dinged. It may be safer to do street parking instead.

I have been here a few times, better not come here at weekends, cos they are jam pack with peoples, the dim sum wasn't outstanding, just the usual stuff. Service wasn't that bad though.

Not exactly a 4 star but close. Go before 10am if you want to avoid over 1 hour waiting time for dim sum. Food quality is very consistent and ambience is great. Average cost above $25 per head, a little on high end.

Also, they need to be more generous with tea. It looks and taste pretty much like water after first pot of refill. I don't mind paying for tea but it has to be good.

I like the shrimp roll and milk egg bun. Shrimp were tender and fresh. The veggie (bean sprouts) was delicious and light flavored which made me feel fresh.

The rice roll was just so-so. Chicken feet was decent. Not any special. The crab claw was around by shrimp which was like bigger with  crunchy surface. The crab meat was very limited.

We went there at 10 am. There were plenty of parking. But my friends told us there will be very crowded after 11 am.

Cannot split order. 17.25 per person. I will give 3.5/5.
